Gwangju City Expands Quality Inspection of Apartment Complexes to '30 or More Households'
Councilor Kang Su-hoon's Proposed 'Partial Amendment to the Ordinance' Passed in the Plenary Session
Gwangju Metropolitan City is expanding the scope of quality inspections for apartment complexes from those with 300 or more households to those with 30 or more households.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Council on the 11th, the partial amendment to the "Gwangju Metropolitan City Apartment Complex Quality Inspection Team Operation Ordinance," which was proposed by Assemblyman Kang Su-hoon (Seo-gu 1, Democratic Party), was passed at the 6th plenary session of the 316th extraordinary meeting.
This amendment expands the inspection target of the Apartment Complex Quality Inspection Team to apartment complexes with "30 or more households."
The "Apartment Complex Quality Inspection Team" is a system where private experts inspect the construction quality of apartment complexes on behalf of residents, including architecture, structure, safety, and quality management, according to the Presidential Decree, and provide recommendations and advice on major defects and faults.
Following this ordinance amendment, Gwangju City will be able to conduct quality inspections not only on apartment complexes with 300 or more households as stipulated in Article 53-5 of the Enforcement Decree of the Housing Act but also on complexes with 30 or more households, which is expected to minimize defect disputes and improve living standards.
