Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Proposes Ordinance for 'Water Conservation in Preparation for Drought'
Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, proposed the "Ordinance on Support for Installation of Water-saving Facilities and Devices for Water Conservation in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City" on the 10th.
The ordinance includes ▲ the responsibilities of the district mayor ▲ specification of targets for installation of water-saving facilities ▲ support measures for water conservation ▲ implementation responsibilities and inspections.
Councilor Jeon emphasized, "The water shortage issue in Gwangju has been a continuous concern, not just a matter of a day or two. Support for water-saving facilities is absolutely necessary, and if water usage can be reduced by about 30-40% through this, it will help alleviate Gwangju's water shortage problem to some extent alongside improving water supply efficiency."
He added, "With the enactment of this ordinance, the installation of water-saving facilities will expand, and through technical and administrative support, Seo-gu has laid the foundation to take a leading role in resolving the water shortage issue. I ask for much interest and promotion to ensure that water-saving facilities are installed in many buildings within the district."
