KCCI Sends Business Delegation to Turkey and France... Requests Support for Busan Expo
The Korea Employers Federation announced on the 11th that it dispatched a delegation of businesspeople to T?rkiye to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The KEF business delegation, sent from the 8th to the 10th of this month, was led by Lee Dong-geun, the full-time vice chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, and consisted of Lee Jeong-il, Vice President of Samsung; Kim Min-ho, Vice President of SK; Jeong Sang-bin, Vice President of Hyundai Motor; Yoo Sung-jun, Executive Director of LG; and Kim Dong-ha, Managing Director of Lotte.
On the 9th, the KEF delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade of T?rkiye to discuss support for Korean companies operating locally and ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries. They also requested support and cooperation for the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Expo.

Vice Chairman Lee emphasized, "Busan is one of the world's top 10 port logistics cities with excellent infrastructure, and Korea has experience hosting the Expo twice in the past." He added, "Korea’s experience of growing from one of the poorest countries to one of the top 10 economies can contribute significantly to the international community." He also requested active government support such as providing investment incentives and deregulation to encourage Korean companies already operating in T?rkiye to expand their investments and for new companies to enter the market.
Through a meeting with the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK), the delegation discussed strengthening cooperation between KEF and TISK and requested support for the Busan World Expo from the Turkish business community. Vice Chairman Lee stressed, "As KEF and TISK represent the employer organizations of both countries, we will actively participate in international discussions such as those at the ILO (International Labour Organization) and work together to improve the global business environment."
The delegation also met with Ali Kibar, Chairman of the Korea Committee of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of T?rkiye (DEIK), to discuss strengthening private sector cooperation between the two countries and support measures for Korean companies operating in T?rkiye.

The KEF business delegation plans to continue promotional activities for the Busan World Expo bid on the 12th by meeting with the French Ministry of Labor, the economic organization MEDEF, and the heads of the Liberian and Gambian embassies in France.
