Boramae Hospital Selected for 'Medical Data-Centered Hospital Support Project' for 4 Consecutive Years
Boramae Hospital announced on the 11th that it has been selected for the 'Medical Data-Centered Hospital Support Project' consortium, led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, for the fourth consecutive year.
The Medical Data-Centered Hospital Support Project is a government initiative that supports the utilization of hospital medical data accumulated through electronic medical records (EMR) and other means for medical research. Additionally, it aims to activate the use of clinical big data and collaborative research by establishing and supporting a cooperative system among medical institutions, pharmaceutical companies, ICT firms, academia, research institutes, and hospitals. Boramae Hospital has participated in the project since 2020 and has been selected again this year to carry out the project until the end of December.
Boramae Hospital is one of the eight hospitals in the Seoul National University Hospital consortium, working alongside Seoul National University Hospital, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, Chungbuk National University Hospital, Chungnam National University Hospital, Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital, Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center, and Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital.
This year, the Medical Data-Centered Hospital Support Project plans to focus on the safe utilization of data under the theme "Safe Medical Data Utilization, Led by Medical Data-Centered Hospitals," strengthening collaboration between institutions with data research demands and medical data-centered hospitals to promote the secure use of data.
Boramae Hospital plans to contribute to effective work efficiency and support medical data research this year through ▲strengthening the data utilization foundation ▲data information security strategies ▲building and enhancing disease-specific customized data ▲data governance ▲establishing a medical data management system ▲supporting medical data disclosure and utilization research.
Kim Byeong-jae, Director of the Informatization Office at Boramae Hospital, said, "By fulfilling our role in this project, we will secure high-quality large-scale medical data to promote research for new drugs, medical devices, and artificial intelligence development, contributing to the advancement of new medical technologies."
