Continuous Night Opening of Gichamaeul Starting from the 20th

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that starting from the 20th, the 13th Gokseong World Rose Festival will be held, and the Seomjingang Train Village will be open for nighttime visits on a regular basis.

Until now, Seomjingang Train Village operated only during the daytime, but in line with the full bloom of the roses, it plans to welcome tourists with a different scenery under subtle landscape lighting compared to the daytime.

During the Gokseong World Rose Festival from the 20th to the 29th, the village will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ticket sales and admission close at 8 p.m. Even after the rose festival ends, visitors can enter free of charge from 6 p.m. and enjoy the garden until 10 p.m.

One change is that with the nighttime opening, the 2,000 won Gokseong Simcheong gift certificate refund system, which was given to paying visitors of Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village, will be abolished.

Due to the continuous expansion of experience facilities and an increase in facility management personnel, an increase in admission fees was inevitable, so the abolition of the gift certificate payment has been replaced by a practical fee increase.

The increased admission fee revenue from the non-refund of gift certificates will be actively used for the second phase of the advancement project, including the railway park construction project.

A county official said, “We will continue to enhance the nighttime landscape lighting facilities of Seomjingang Train Village and prepare unique sightseeing spots, experiences, and content that can be enjoyed at night. We ask for your great interest in the evolving Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village.”

Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village is continuously changing and growing. The rose park has been expanded to twice its original size, and the train village rail bike has also been developed further with an extended operation section and additional content.

Next year, when the first phase of the advancement project is completed, a large-scale water playground will be created. Also, once the railway park construction project, which is being promoted as the second phase of the advancement project, is completed, Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village is expected to become the nation’s top family-themed park in name and reality.

Additionally, at Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village, children can use facilities such as Chichippuppu Playground, Ecological Learning Center, Magic Land, VR Experience Center, and 4D Theater free of charge. Various play facilities and experiences are steadily expanding, and 365 events such as picnic events and busking performances are still ongoing.
