Muan-gun Kendo Team Wins Runner-up in Team Event at the President's Cup National Corporate Kendo Championship
Player Kim Hanbeom Ranks 3rd in Men's Individual All-Around
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 9th that the county's workplace Kendo team (Coach Lee Kwang-cheol) won the runner-up position in the team event at the 8th Chairman's Cup National Corporate Kendo Championship held for four days from the 4th to the 7th at Cheongyang-gun Citizen Gymnasium.
In this competition, which featured 26 corporate Kendo teams from across the country, the Muan-gun Office Kendo team defeated the Chungnam Sports Council team (quarterfinals) and Daegu Dalseo-gu Office team (semifinals) to advance to the finals, where they narrowly lost 1:2 to the Gwangmyeong City Office team, securing the runner-up position.
Additionally, in the men's individual event, player Kim Han-beom advanced to the semifinals but unfortunately lost, finishing in third place.
Governor Kim San said, "I am proud of the players who have trained diligently and consistently," adding, "I am proud that their efforts have yielded excellent results, and we will continue to provide the best support for the development of the Kendo team."
Meanwhile, the Muan-gun Office workplace Kendo team was founded in March 2002 and consists of a total of 10 members, including one coach, one assistant coach, and eight players. The team has consistently achieved top rankings in various national Kendo competitions, enhancing the prestige of Muan-gun.
