Krafton Reports Quarterly Record Revenue of 538.7 Billion KRW and Operating Profit of 283 Billion KRW
Krafton has achieved its highest quarterly revenue.
On the 9th, Krafton announced that it recorded sales of 538.7 billion KRW and an operating profit of 283 billion KRW in the first quarter of 2023. Sales decreased by 3% and operating profit decreased by 10.1% compared to the same period last year.
The net profit for the first quarter was 267.2 billion KRW, a 9% increase compared to the same period last year, turning from a net loss in the previous quarter to a profit. The operating profit margin was 53%.
Sales by platform in the first quarter were 178.5 billion KRW for PC, 348.2 billion KRW for mobile, 7.2 billion KRW for console, and 4.8 billion KRW for other sales.
Krafton's flagship title, 'PUBG: Battlegrounds' PC and console versions, set a record for the highest sales ever due to increased traffic and new paid content.
Krafton explained that the mobile business defended its sales through new traffic inflow despite the suspension of the 'BGMI' service, the Indian version of Battlegrounds Mobile, while stabilizing its global mobile business.
Operating expenses were 255.7 billion KRW, a 22.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
The composition of operating expenses included labor costs of 100.8 billion KRW, accounting for 39.4% of total operating expenses. Other expenses included commission fees of 61.6 billion KRW, app fees and cost of sales of 46.7 billion KRW, other costs of 31.4 billion KRW, stock compensation expenses of 10 billion KRW, and marketing expenses of 5.1 billion KRW.

Among these, labor costs decreased by 6.9% compared to the same period last year, while commission fees increased by 10.3%.
