Namwon-si, Establishes New Local Specialty Food Startup Training Program

Namwon City in Jeonbuk has partnered with Jeonju University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation to establish a startup education program for Namwon's specialized foods (traditional liquor and beverages) as part of the '2023 Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project.'

According to the city on the 9th, the 'Traditional Liquor and Beverage' startup education is a customized startup program where experts consult prospective entrepreneurs, especially from the MZ generation who prefer Makgeolli and other items, helping them discover startup ideas tailored to their own. This program has been vigorously nurturing entrepreneurs for four years, following Kimbugak, home meal replacements, and meal kits.

The program, running until the end of July, is designed for prospective entrepreneurs interested in startups and includes basic education necessary for startups such as traditional liquor manufacturing, startup marketing, and accounting, as well as practical courses for producing traditional liquor and beverages.

Mayor Choi Kyung-sik said, "Unique traditional liquors are gaining attention these days, and the traditional liquor market size is explosively increasing," adding, "This project can increase income for local farmers producing raw materials for traditional liquor as well as create new jobs in processing and distribution stages, not only for the participating prospective entrepreneurs."

He continued, "Going forward, the city will continue to secure various customized jobs suitable for local conditions and do its best to discover diverse startup items."
