Uiryeong-gun to Host Our Wheat Festival Amid Wheat Fields
On the 21st, in the Baeksan-ro area of Dongdong-ri, Uiryeong-eup
Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam, will hold the ‘2023 Woorimil Festival’ with wheat fields on the 21st in the Dongdong-ri area of Uiryeong-eup (behind Heegaro Apartment).
Uiryeong-gun is supporting subsidies to promote Woorimil as a strategic crop, and currently, 112 farms are cultivating wheat on 137 hectares.
This Woorimil Festival will feature various experiential events such as wheat field walks, wheat seedling experiences, wheat threshing, and grilling wheat rice cakes. The Harmony Yard event will include saxophone and invited singer performances, impromptu singing contests, and quiz competitions. There will also be sales events where visitors can purchase and eat Woorimil products directly.
As a side event, participants will receive souvenirs through tours of major tourist attractions in Uiryeong-gun, including Sotbawi Rock, Chungiksa Shrine, Cloud Bridge, Lee Byung-cheol’s Birthplace, and Gwak Jae-woo’s Birthplace.
