Two Teenagers Met in Depression Gallery Attempt Extreme Suicide... Live-Streamed on SNS
Two teenagers who met on the online community DC Inside's 'Depression Gallery' attempted an extreme act but were stopped by the police. The process of attempting the extreme act was broadcast live through social networking services (SNS).
According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on the 6th, at around 3:55 a.m. the previous day, Ms. A (17) and Ms. B (15) attempted an extreme act at the northern end of Hannam Bridge in Seoul while streaming the process on SNS.
The police responded to a 112 report stating "a friend is attempting an extreme act" and intervened to prevent Ms. A and Ms. B from carrying out the act. Afterwards, they were handed over to their guardians.
It is known that Ms. A and Ms. B met in the Depression Gallery and attempted the extreme act together.
Earlier, on the 16th of last month, a teenager streamed the process of attempting an extreme act from the rooftop of a 19-story building located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The student reportedly met Mr. Choi (27) through the Depression Gallery and planned the extreme act. The police have booked Mr. Choi on charges of assisting suicide.
