Mayor Hong Nampyo Attends 2nd Meeting of the 'Pan-Government Promotion Support Group' and Presents Attraction Plans
On the afternoon of the 4th, Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, attended the 2nd meeting of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s (MOLIT) new national industrial complex ‘Pan-Government Promotion Support Group’ held at the MOLIT main conference room in the Government Sejong Complex, and expressed his strong determination to vigorously promote the ‘National Industrial Complex 2.0’ development project.
This meeting was held about a month after the kickoff meeting of the new national industrial complex ‘Pan-Government Promotion Support Group’ held on March 31. At the meeting, MOLIT announced the selection results of the project implementer (prospective) for the new national industrial complex.

View original imageAt this event, Mayor Hong continued his presentation focusing on plans to attract anchor companies for the swift passage of the preliminary feasibility study of the ‘Changwon Defense and Nuclear Convergence National Industrial Complex 2.0’ development project.
Mayor Hong announced that to attract anchor companies and partner firms to the ‘National Industrial Complex 2.0,’ step-by-step support measures will be established, including ▲(before investment) consulting support such as investment environment and support system consultations ▲(during investment) resolving various permits and approvals difficulties, subsidy support ▲(after investment) post-management of investment implementation and reinvestment consultations, and that comprehensive investment attraction promotional activities will be carried out, reiterating Changwon Special City’s strong commitment to the project.
Furthermore, Mayor Hong emphasized that National Industrial Complex 2.0 is a national core infrastructure that can induce large-scale investment and strengthen export competitiveness, and requested the Pan-Government Promotion Support Group to revise the ‘Guidelines for Establishing Urban and County Management Plan Amendments for Adjustment of Greenbelt Areas’ to ensure smooth promotion of national projects such as national industrial complexes within greenbelt areas.

Mayor Hong stated, “Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0 is a new-concept industrial complex that will establish state-of-the-art large-scale joint research facilities for resident companies, attract R&D-centered public institutions, and cluster institutions for training high-level talent,” adding, “We will prepare meticulously to ensure the successful establishment of the industrial complex.”
