Jeon Yong-gi "Yoon Must Address Dokdo at Korea-Japan Summit"
Ahead of the Korea-Japan summit, Jeon Yong-gi, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who carried out a 'Dokdo landing' performance, raised his voice that President Yoon Suk-yeol should address the Dokdo issue during the upcoming weekend summit.
On the 4th, on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' Jeon said, "At the summit, our President Yoon Suk-yeol must clearly address this. I hope this kind of issue is not overlooked."
He said, "Why does Japan protest when a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea visits Dokdo and demand prevention of recurrence, repeatedly violating our sovereignty? I hope they would clearly put an end to this."
He added, "There are many evaluations that this is humiliating diplomacy due to issues like the third-party compensation plan for forced labor," and said, "I think President Yoon Suk-yeol is a conservative president. The dictionary meaning of conservative is 'to preserve and protect,' but I feel that a lot is being taken away."
Jeon pointed out, "In the Korea-US summit and the Korea-Japan summit, there is a feeling of losing ground, but please firmly protect what is ours and clearly say 'do not say such things' for the actual national interest of the Republic of Korea," and criticized, "Among companies, only we restored the whitelist, but Japan has not restored it yet. They have only initiated the procedure, not restored it."

Regarding the issue of Fukushima contaminated water discharge, he said, "I think we need to say that the discharge of contaminated water is unacceptable. Because many organizations worldwide are saying that the country that will suffer the greatest damage when contaminated water is discharged will be Korea. It will be Korea right next door," and added, "How can the Republic of Korea accept contaminated water being discharged from a neighboring country immediately?"
