Lee Jun-seok: "'Yangduguyuk' 1-Year Disciplinary Action... Ruling Party Should Impose Stronger Sanctions"
Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok raised his voice, saying that he received a one-year disciplinary action for using the idiom 'Yangduguyuk' in the past, and that stronger disciplinary measures from the Ethics Committee should be imposed on Supreme Council members Kim Jae-won and Tae Young-ho.
On the 3rd, Lee said on CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "I was disciplined for one year just for using an idiom, but now, in a situation where insults have been made regarding May 18 and April 3, shouldn't the disciplinary action be even stronger than that?"
However, if strong disciplinary actions are taken against the two, the Supreme Council itself would be unable to function. Lee explained, "If a suspension of party membership for more than one year is imposed, the disciplinary action would effectively end after the general election," adding, "In that case, the top leadership would, in my view, be in a situation where it is difficult to make decisions."
This is why he believes 'political considerations' will be involved in this Ethics Committee disciplinary action. He said, "They probably cannot avoid political considerations," and added, "They would want to impose a light disciplinary action. But then, the approval ratings would drop, leading to criticism, so they are in a dilemma."

He continued, "(Lee Jun-seok) used the expression Yangduguyuk. And because he filed an injunction against the party, it was decided to discipline him," adding, "But if you look at it that way, there are countless people who filed injunctions when they lost nominations, and those standards have now become hollow. Therefore, I believe this disciplinary action will inevitably be subject to much debate in the future." In other words, no matter what conclusion is reached, there will inevitably be controversy.
