The 50th Haenam County Residents' Day event was successfully held on the 1st at Haenam Useul Sports Park.
According to the county on the 2nd, this commemorative event was held outdoors for the first time in four years since COVID-19, adding significance to the 50th anniversary by proclaiming a vision for Haenam's development. It was a large-scale event attended by about 20,000 residents and hometown visitors, serving as a festival of unity for the county.

View original imageAt the Residents' Day event, alongside the ceremony, athletic and folk events featuring teams selected from 14 towns and townships were held, heating up the atmosphere at Useul Field.
The ceremony included an entrance parade called the "March of Leap" showcasing the characteristics of the 14 towns and townships, as well as awards for contributors to county administration development.
Notably, a vision proclamation ceremony was held featuring a "Wishes for Haenam" video created by residents from the 14 towns and townships, along with calligraphy of phrases expressing hopes and aspirations, creating a performance that gathered the will of the residents and attracted attention.
County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan said in his commemorative speech, "This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Residents' Day event, which began in 1973. After four years since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have lit the flame here at Useul Field and gathered residents and hometown visitors in one place, making this a moving day. Continuing the greatest achievements of the 7th elected administration, let us create the future of Haenam's development, where the cleanest, safest, and most livable 'Best Haenam' sets the standard and becomes the starting point for South Korea."

View original imageThe main stage was removed and a level stage was installed where key attendees and residents could mingle together. The ceremony and celebratory performances were held, including cultural performances by local residents, a demonstration of Woolsori from Useul, which won the Presidential Award at the Korean Folk Arts Festival, a Taekwondo demonstration, and congratulatory performances by popular singers, creating an atmosphere of harmony.
Additionally, to commemorate Residents' Day, on the 29th of last month, a recording of KBS National Singing Contest was held at Haenam County Office's Residents' Square, and on the 30th, the top domestic Universal Philharmonic Orchestra's invited performance titled "Beautiful Haenam" was held, receiving great acclaim.
