The ‘Youth Policy Network,’ a youth organization directly under the leader of the People Power Party, is pushing to extend the validity period of TOEIC test scores from the current 2 years to 5 years as its first policy.
The Youth Policy Network held its first meeting at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 1st and announced a policy called ‘Everyone TOEIC 5 Years.’
Kim Byung-min, a Supreme Council member participating in the Youth Policy Network, told reporters immediately after the meeting, “Currently, if private foreign language test scores are pre-registered at the Cyber National Examination Center for civil service exams, the validity period is recognized as 5 years instead of 2 years,” adding, “The main point is to expand and reform this to be reflected in private company recruitment as well.”

The Youth Policy Network decided to guarantee the activities of not only internal party personnel but also external figures such as former and current student council presidents to ensure that diverse opinions of youth are reflected in policies. Among the 17 committee members, 12 belong to the ‘2030 generation,’ with the youngest born in 2000.
Co-chairpersons include Party Leader Kim Ki-hyun, Park Soo-young, head of the Yeouido Research Institute, Bae Hyun-jin, Deputy Head of Organization, Supreme Council member Kim, Youth Supreme Council member Jang Ye-chan, and Youth Spokesperson Kim Ga-ram, who are also serving as members, lending their support.
In his opening remarks, Leader Kim said, “This is a special committee chaired by the party leader. Two Supreme Council members are also involved,” emphasizing, “This means we have many tasks to accomplish, and it reflects our strong will to push these tasks forward.”
In the future, one youth vice-chairperson selected from the policy hackathon competition conducted by the party’s Policy Committee and six youth vice-chairpersons of the Policy Coordination Committee will also participate. The youth vice-chairperson will co-chair with Leader Kim, and the six vice-chairpersons of the Policy Coordination Committee will attend as members.
Leader Kim said, “There is a saying that no finger hurts when you pinch your ten fingers, but the most painful finger in our party is the youth issue,” adding, “I have always had a regretful and sorrowful feeling that this issue should be resolved quickly, so I have been continuously thinking about it.”
