Ideas for Regulatory Improvement in 5 Areas from 1st to 31st
Excellent Proposals Selected and Announced in June After Contest Review
Pohang City is conducting the "2023 Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest" from the 1st to the 31st to identify and improve unreasonable regulations (laws, systems, etc.) that cause inconvenience in daily life and economic activities together with its citizens.
The contest categories are divided into citizen life and economic activities, including ▲ childbirth, childcare, welfare for low-income groups and the elderly ▲ inconveniences in daily life such as transportation, housing, and medical care ▲ employment and jobs for youth, career interrupters, and the elderly ▲ difficulties in startup and business activities for self-employed and small business owners ▲ regulatory difficulties related to new technologies, new services, and renewable energy, totaling five categories. Simple complaints or petitions not based on law or opinions already submitted through other proposal systems are excluded.
Anyone interested in regulatory improvement can participate in the contest by downloading the application form from the Pohang City website - Electronic Civil Complaints - Regulatory Reform - Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest, and submitting it via bulletin board, mail, or email.
The city plans to review the submitted ideas and select and announce outstanding proposals in June. One grand prize winner will receive 500,000 KRW, two excellence awardees and five encouragement awardees will receive 300,000 KRW and 100,000 KRW respectively, all paid in Pohang Love Gift Certificates.

A Pohang City official stated, "We will continuously propose the selected excellent improvement plans to central government ministries and relevant departments to ensure that unreasonable regulations are improved," and added, "We look forward to active participation from citizens with innovative ideas."
