The 13th Yeongdeok Mulgajami Festival Concludes Successfully
The 13th Yeongdeok Flounder Festival, held at Chuksan Port in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, successfully concluded its three-day schedule from the 28th to the 30th of last month.
Under the theme "A Jewel-like Delicacy Met on the Blue Road! To Yeongdeok Chuksan Port," the festival attracted around 20,000 participants, including County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol and various dignitaries, revitalizing Chuksan Port, known as the "Thousand-ri Beautiful Port."
Unlike previous festivals, a finger food zone was created where attendees could enjoy unique recipes and fresh dishes using flounder, such as flounder scallop pops, flounder mapo tofu, flounder tteokbokki, flounder sweet and sour pork, and flounder katsu, which received high praise from festival participants.
For family visitors, five experiential events were prepared, including making bounty bread and henna tattoos wishing for a good catch in the kids' zone, as well as hands-on fish catching and fishing boat boarding experiences, providing programs that families could enjoy together and delighting both tourists and local residents visiting the festival.
Additionally, various attractions such as a fishing boat parade, a multi-arts performance wishing for a bountiful catch, performances by the Kungchitachi Band, Yeju Jumman Nanta performance, Yeongdeok Haepalang Janggu performance, and celebrity congratulatory performances captivated the eyes and ears of visitors.
