Partial Relief of Parking Difficulties Around Repair Shops in Songpa-gu
Songpa-gu and Seoul Automobile Specialized Maintenance Business Association Agreement, Free Parking Lot Opening at Maintenance Shops
‘Free Parking Lot Sharing Project’ outside business hours at 29 maintenance shops... Contributing to alleviating parking difficulties
Parking lots within maintenance shops in Songpa-gu will be opened for free.
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) signed an agreement with the Seoul Automobile Specialized Maintenance Business Association (hereinafter referred to as Carpos) Songpa-gu branch to officially promote the ‘Free Parking Lot Sharing Project,’ which opens parking lots within participating maintenance shops free of charge to residents.
Many residents living in general houses suffer from parking difficulties due to a lack of parking spaces. Although some shops in the Carpos Songpa-gu branch have opened parking spaces, utilization was low because residents were unaware of the availability.
Accordingly, to help alleviate residents’ parking difficulties, the district announced on April 27 that it signed a business agreement with the Carpos Songpa-gu branch and will promote the free parking lot sharing project.
Through the agreement, 29 maintenance shops of the Carpos Songpa-gu branch will participate, opening 64 parking spaces free of charge to nearby residents.
The operating hours will be from 8:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the next day, excluding the maintenance shops’ business hours, and one parking space will be shared free of charge to nearby residents upon application.
Applications for the project will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Songpa-gu Office website in May. For detailed inquiries, contact the Parking Policy Division of Songpa-gu Office.
Additionally, to solve the severe parking shortage in the Samjeon-dong area, the district held a groundbreaking ceremony for the ‘Samjeon Neighborhood Park Public Parking Lot’ with 166 spaces on February 24 and is actively promoting its construction.
Furthermore, the district is expanding resident-priority parking spaces by discovering idle land and implementing parking lot sharing projects.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “I hope this project will help alleviate the inconvenience of residents struggling with parking difficulties even a little,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to improve residents’ parking convenience and create a safe and pleasant residential environment.”

Seodaemun-gu Holds ‘2nd Resident Communication Forum’ for Northwestern Landmark Development
Chief planners and experts explain project plans reflecting residents’ opinions from the 1st forum
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will hold the ‘2nd Resident Communication Forum’ to promote the revitalization project of the Hongje District Center for the construction of a new landmark in northwest Seoul through the development of Inwang Market and Yujin Shopping Center areas. The forum will be held on May 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Haha Hoho Hongje Village Vitality Center near Hongje Station with experts from related fields.
In the past, the ‘Hongje Central District’ around Inwang Market and Yujin Shopping Center was repeatedly canceled due to mixed inaccurate information and resident conflicts.
Accordingly, the district has appointed a chief planner who is a top expert in redevelopment, centralized the project information window at the district office to communicate directly with residents, and is promoting an unprecedented participatory administration in redevelopment projects to minimize resident conflicts through active resident participation in decision-making.
The district has completed reviewing various project methods and development plans and is establishing development plans based on residents’ opinions.
At the 1st communication forum held in early April, about 100 residents attended, exchanging opinions with Mayor Lee Seong-heon and expressing specific demands.
At this 2nd communication forum, the chief planner and related experts will respond to residents’ opinions presented at the 1st forum and explain the reviewed project plans regarding the demands. Any resident living in the Yujin Shopping Center and Inwang Market areas can participate.
A resident who attended the 1st forum said, “Hearing the district’s explanation directly gave me trust,” and added, “I hope the project will proceed as soon as possible.”
The district plans to resolve resident conflicts through continuous feedback and rational decision-making via resident-participatory decision-making and to proceed with the project at a rapid pace.
