At the event, Governor Kim said, "Gyeonggi Province brings together developmental disabilities, artificial intelligence (AI), and culture and arts, which are key focuses of the province. The province exhibits paintings by people with developmental disabilities within the provincial government building and invites performance groups of people with developmental disabilities to provincial events, among other opportunities for people with disabilities, including those with developmental disabilities. Gyeonggi Province aims to be the most pioneering in creating opportunities for people with disabilities to live together without discrimination nationwide. I hope you fully enjoy the rights you deserve and grow and develop vigorously together with Gyeonggi Province."
The Gyeonggi Province Artificial Intelligence (AI) Creative Group is a project included in the 'Gyeonggi GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) Promotion Plan (Roadmap)' being promoted by the province.
In March, the province announced the 'Gyeonggi GPT Promotion Plan (Roadmap),' which includes establishing a dedicated organization, an AI call center, and art activity education for people with developmental disabilities, to integrate GPT, a generative AI gaining attention, into provincial administration.
The Gyeonggi Province Artificial Intelligence (AI) Creative Group provides education to people with developmental disabilities, pre-recruited by the province and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, covering basic AI concepts and how to use commands (prompts) to create desired image outputs, allowing them to freely express their creative will and produce digital artworks.
The Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, which oversees the project, Kimyu Studio Co., Ltd., a specialized education organization for people with disabilities, and the College of Fine Arts at the University of Suwon (Dean Lee Sang-hee) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in April. Professionals, artists, and fine arts students participated as intermediaries to enhance the project's quality.
