Former Twitter CEO: "Musk Is Not an Ideal Leader"
Jack Dorsey Posts on New SNS 'Bluesky'
Strongly Supported 'Musk Twitter Acquisition' a Year Ago
Jack Dorsey, co-founder and former CEO of social networking service (SNS) Twitter, criticized current Twitter CEO Elon Musk, saying, "He is not an ideal leader and should not have acquired Twitter."
According to the US daily The Washington Post (WP) on the 29th (local time), Dorsey made these remarks in a post on the new SNS 'Bluesky' the day before. 'Bluesky' is a spin-off company from Twitter, and Dorsey is also a co-founder of Bluesky.
In the post, Dorsey said, "I don't think Musk acted correctly," adding, "At the time, Twitter's board should not have forced the sale of the company. Everything went wrong." However, he also stated, "Every company is sold to the highest bidder," showing an attempt to avoid responsibility for Musk's acquisition of Twitter.
Dorsey was a strong supporter of Musk's Twitter acquisition until just a year ago. At that time, he said, "If Twitter is to become a 'company' reliant on advertising rather than an open-source protocol, Musk is the only solution I trust." He also praised Musk in a tweet last April, saying, "I believe Musk's mission is to expand the light of consciousness."
The fact that Dorsey, Musk's friend and strong ally, changed his stance 180 degrees in just one year appears to be due to Musk's erratic leadership. After acquiring Twitter in October last year, Musk sparked continuous controversies such as mass layoffs, unilateral account deletions, and frequent changes in operational policies.

Bluesky is part of a project that Dorsey started when he was Twitter's CEO. It built a 'decentralized' social media system where individuals or companies do not control the experience. Although Twitter invested in Bluesky, Bluesky is a separate company with its own CEO. It is rapidly attracting celebrities who were Twitter users.
