Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the ‘8th Da(Da)Dream (DREAM) Gwangjin Career Fair’ on the 28th at the Gwangjin Youth Center and the sports park area in Gwangjang-dong.
Since the full implementation of the Free Semester System in 2016, the district has held an annual career fair to provide youth with various opportunities for career exploration, marking the 8th event this year.
About 1,000 youths from six local middle schools, including Gwangjang Middle School, Gwangjin Middle School, Konkuk University Middle School, and Dongdaemun Girls’ Middle School, participated in this career fair.
A total of 33 career exploration and experience booths and 10 mentoring booths for different academic departments were operated to help students find their areas of interest and design their own career paths.
Notably, the career experience was organized by the Gwangjin Career and Job Experience Support Center ‘Haebom,’ which invited professionals from various fields such as science, technology, and the arts in line with the 7th Youth Policy, drawing attention.
Students had meaningful opportunities to broaden their career choices through experiences in diverse jobs such as ▲big data expert ▲emoticon creator ▲future food researcher ▲composer, as well as mentoring in departments like education, business administration, biotechnology, and media.
One student shared, “Through various job experiences, I was able to deeply consider my interests, aptitudes, and passions. Especially, since I was interested in composing, being able to try music sampling was a valuable experience.”
Additionally, various event booths such as puberty sex education, observing the daytime moon, and learning about atmospheric pressure using water bottles received great responses from students.
