The briefing was chaired by Vice Mayor Kim Nam-il and attended by about 20 people, including related organizations such as the Marine Corps 1st Division, the US Marine Corps Mujeok Camp, the Marine Corps Veterans Association Gyeongbuk Federation, Pohang Southern Fire Station, and heads of city departments.
Starting with the final report from the event agency on the festival, the session reviewed overall final checks including the sale of Pohang Love Gift Certificates, traffic and parking measures, festival site safety management plans, and contingency plans in case of rain. This was followed by reports on preparation status through support measures and feedback from related organizations.
Vice Mayor Kim Nam-il emphasized, “Since some road sections from Seomun Intersection to the Marine Corps Seomun will be closed due to the event, we will do our best to provide advance publicity and guidance to minimize inconvenience to citizens,” and added, “Let’s prepare thoroughly and flawlessly until the end to ensure a safe and successful festival.”
This year’s festival will be themed around the Marine Corps’ symbol, the ‘Red Color,’ and will be filled with various participatory and experiential programs that people of all ages can enjoy, as well as various demonstration events and exhibition contents that allow visitors to truly experience ‘Marine Corps Culture.’

In the past, since the base was a military protection zone, visitors had to apply in advance and take buses to tour or could only experience Marine Corps culture in a limited way. However, this year, the base’s open area has been greatly expanded to allow visitors to explore on foot, raising citizens’ expectations.
