At the meeting, more than 20 officials from eup/myeon offices and care service providers (including four welfare centers in the area, the Community Self-Support Center, and the Korea Visiting Nursing Association) attended to review last year's progress and discuss this year's project plans.
Specifically, starting this year, the county will expand support targets from the elderly to include young and middle-aged adults in need of care. Additionally, the integrated care desks, which were previously operated in five eup/myeon offices and the Gijang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, will be further established at the Dahangbokhan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and both the main and branch buildings of the Gijang-gun Senior Welfare Center, expanding to nine locations to actively identify care recipients.
Besides support projects for housekeeping, meals, and neighbor care, 14 projects including ▲ visiting nursing, ▲ laundry services, and ▲ emergency safety assurance services will be promoted. The plan is to build a sustainable and detailed care safety net system to help residents live happy and healthy lives within the community.

County Governor Jeong Jong-bok emphasized, “With the recent increase in single-person households and changes in family structures, the sense of filial duty has weakened, and family-centered care functions have diminished, leading to social issues such as solitary deaths.” He added, “We will actively support finding residents in need of care everywhere to eliminate blind spots in care.”
