Boseong Dahyang Festival Opens on the 29th
Until May 7, at Korea Car Culture Park Area
Enjoy a total of 77 programs across 9 categories for the whole family
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the “46th Boseong Dahyang Festival” from April 29 to May 7 at the Korea Tea Culture Park.
The Boseong Dahyang Festival is a 2023 festival designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and it was also selected as one of the “Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events” promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.
Marking its 46th year, this year’s Boseong Dahyang Festival will be held under the theme “The Mystery of a Thousand-Year Tea, Boseong, Let’s Play!”
Boseong-gun will welcome tourists with a total of 77 programs across 9 categories, including tea culture experiences, exhibitions, competitions, tea markets, and performances.
Since the festival takes place during the Boseong World Tea Expo period (April 29 to May 7), it is designed with a family-friendly concept to allow visitors to enjoy tea easily and comfortably.
In particular, programs that children and families can enjoy together have been expanded, including △ Physical 100 Green Tea Field Ssireum King, △ Golden Green Tea Auction, △ Magic Pirate Crew Nemo Semo (2023), △ Speed UP Green Tea Race, △ Dahyang Writing & Drawing Contest, △ Boseong Byeolgok, △ World Magic Show, △ Spring Picnic with Tourists, and a Playground where kids can have fun.
The core contents of the Boseong Dahyang Festival include green tea leaf picking and tea making, the Boseong Tea Master Cup, Boseong Love (愛) Dyeing (茶), and Green Tea Therapy.
Green tea leaf picking and tea making are unique programs exclusive to Boseong-gun and boast the highest popularity. Visitors can escape from artificial festival spaces and directly pick tea leaves and make tea in actual tea fields.
The “Boseong Tea Master Cup” is a competition to develop caf? beverages based on Boseong tea, with the final round held on April 30.
The “Boseong Love (愛) Dyeing (茶) Program” offers a special experiential trip that immerses visitors in Boseong, including enjoying tea beverages and tea foods prepared by locals in the tea fields, the Botjae Green Dahyang & Korea Tea Culture Park Afternoon Tea Picnic experience, and ecological trekking along leisurely forest paths.
“Green Tea Therapy” is a space where visitors can experience finding their personal color, making their own perfume, green tea pack treatments, hand massages, nail art, and face painting. Tea-based therapy helps relieve stress and heal skin conditions.
Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “We will offer healing and relaxation through tea to visitors of the Boseong Dahyang Festival, revitalize the local economy, and promote the thousand-year-old Boseong tea to the world.”
Boseong-gun will hold the Boseong World Tea Expo for nine days from April 29 to May 7 under the theme “Thousand-Year Boseong Tea, Embracing the World.” Various festivals and side events will be presented, including the Boseong Dahyang Festival, Seopyeonje Boseong Sound Festival, Fireworks Festival, Illimsan Azalea Festival, Beolgyo Mudflat Leisure Tidal Boat Competition, national-level sports competitions, and Boseong Residents’ Day.
