Do You Know the Safe K-Sadari? ... Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Holds Promotional Demonstration
The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute held a promotional demonstration for the 'K-Ladder' (Korean-style safety ladder), developed as a replacement for the existing type A ladder, which has a high risk of accidents.
The demonstration was held on the 27th at 2 p.m. in the seminar room on the 2nd floor of the agency's research institute, with about 50 safety and health officials from 17 public institutions, including the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, in attendance.
The institute conducted research to develop a product that can replace the type A ladder to prevent fatal accidents occurring during mobile ladder work, and completed the development of the Korean-style safety ladder specialized for safety last year.
The K-Ladder is a ladder with a structure specialized in preventing overturning accidents, featuring an active outrigger that automatically fixes according to the terrain and objects on the ground. There are two types: a single-type product that maximizes lightweight design and an adjustable product that improves applicability to work at various heights.
The demonstration proceeded in the order of explaining the overall research and development process and results to introduce the K-Ladder, watching a promotional video, product demonstration, and Q&A session.
In the final session, model cases of safety management in public construction projects were introduced to improve safety management levels in the public sector and prevent industrial accidents, emphasizing the importance of the public sector in accident prevention.
Public institution officials participating in this demonstration were able to confirm the excellence of the K-Ladder by observing its structure and features, installation and dismantling, storage and transportation methods compared to existing ladders, thereby enhancing their understanding of the product.
The K-Ladder recently obtained the S Mark safety certification in an evaluation by an accredited institution, verifying the product's safety and reliability. It was also selected as an exemplary case of proactive government administration at the end of last year.
Before distributing the K-Ladder, the agency is currently in the process of patent application and plans to proceed with production as soon as the application is completed.
