This agreement was established to attract the Future Advanced Materials National Industrial Complex to Suncheon and Gwangyang and to foster mutual cooperation for the development of future material industries such as secondary batteries, hydrogen, and carbon.
Through this agreement, each institution agreed to ▲ collaborate jointly for regional mutual development ▲ cooperate on tasks to create and revitalize the industrial ecosystem in the field of future advanced materials ▲ and unite in creating an atmosphere and foundation for cooperation to successfully attract the national industrial complex.
Jeollado and Suncheon-Gwangyang are currently facing a shortage of industrial sites in the Gwangyang Bay area, making the establishment of a new national industrial complex urgent. With high demand for industrial sites from new growth companies such as secondary batteries, the plan is to supply land in a timely manner, meet the demand of advanced companies, and secure technological sovereignty by focusing on fostering regionally specialized industries in the era of global technological hegemony competition.
Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, said, “If the Future Advanced Materials National Industrial Complex is attracted, it will be a historic event for our region.” He added, “We will concentrate all administrative efforts on attracting the national industrial complex to secure new growth engines and create good jobs.”
