Jung-gu Council Welfare and Construction Committee Inspects Major Projects of Resident Living Facilities
The Welfare and Construction Committee of Seoul Jung-gu Council (Chairperson Jo Mijeong) conducted a site visit on the 24th.
On this day, Chairperson Jo Mijeong, Committee Members Yang Eunmi, Son Juhwa, and Yoon Pano, along with Administrative and Health Committee Members So Jae-kwon and Lee Jeongmi, inspected four major local project sites starting with the Pildong Retention Tank, followed by Namsan Elementary School’s Converged Smart Classroom, Donghwa-dong Small Library, and Daehyeonsan Water Reservoir.
The first site visited by the committee members was the Pildong Retention Tank. This facility was installed by Seoul Jung-gu in 2010 to effectively recycle rainwater and prevent flood damage during heavy rains. After hearing about the operation status of the retention tank, the committee urged the officials to thoroughly manage flood prevention facilities and ensure residents’ safety in preparation for summer water-related disasters.
Next, they visited the Namsan Elementary School Converged Smart Classroom. This is a place where student-level curricula are conducted using various digital exercise contents. Recently, a complaint was received requesting that usage be restricted to students only, in line with the facility’s intended purpose. After reviewing the usage status, the committee requested cooperation from the relevant departments to ensure sound operation.

The committee also inspected resident convenience facilities that have either completed remodeling or are currently under construction. They visited the Donghwa-dong Small Library, which completed remodeling in April of this year, and confirmed the improved reading space through the removal of the exterior wall, reviewing additional support measures from the users’ perspective. They also visited the Daehyeonsan Water Reservoir monorail site (photo).
