EV Advanced Materials to Supply Copper Pilot Quantity to Domestic Company D by August
EV Advanced Materials announced on the 26th that it has signed a contract to supply high-purity copper, Electrolytic Copper Cathode, to domestic company D.
EV Advanced Materials plans to deliver 500 M/T (metric tons) of Congolese electrolytic copper by August as a pilot shipment, receiving it at Busan Port via company H located in Singapore, and supply it to company D. They plan to increase the volume and supply regularly through future consultations.
Copper has excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, workability, and corrosion resistance, making its range of applications very diverse. It is used as a functional material, in electric wires and communication cables, semiconductor components, PCBs, communication and electronic parts, piping materials, alloys, construction materials, and as a core material for secondary battery anodes.
In particular, copper is an essential material for electric vehicles. While the amount of copper used in one conventional internal combustion engine vehicle is about 8.16 to 22.22 kg, electric vehicles require approximately 83 kg, about four times more, and electric buses need about 369 kg of copper per vehicle.
