Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do has unveiled a fragrant and refreshing travel course in Gwangyang that families and couples can enjoy intimately in May, the month of family.
The city recommended three courses centered around Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest, which features flower spots such as Ipap tree blossoms and poppies, cultural and artistic spaces like Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art and Inseori Park, as well as healing forests and ecological forests: a half-day course, a day course, and a 1-night 2-day course.

The half-day course, "Half a Day in Gwangyang," connects Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art & Gwangyang Art Warehouse ~ Yudang Park (Ipap tree blossoms) ~ delightful gourmet (Gwangyang Bulgogi or Gwangyang Chicken Charcoal Grill) ~ Inseori Park ~ Seocheon Flower Road (poppies & roses).
Celebrating its 2nd anniversary, Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art welcomes visitors with a wide range of exhibitions including The City’s Garden, Another Sea of Asia, and Richard Kennedy: Acy-Ducy.
Yudang Park is a historic garden featuring ancient trees over 500 years old such as Pujonamu and Zelkova, and a cozy pond, with May being the peak season when Ipap trees bloom modestly.
Inseori Park, which has established itself as an alley cultural and artistic space equipped with exhibitions, experiences, and stays, is currently hosting the exhibition "Plum Blossom; Fading Beauty" by artist Hwang Ran.
Along the Seocheon riverside, originating from Baegunsan, red poppies create waves of flowers and colorful roses form tunnels, exciting the hearts of citizens and tourists alike.

Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest, nestled on the slopes of Baegunsan at an altitude of 1,222 meters, is a wellness tourist destination with dense primeval forests, a healing forest, wood culture experience center, forest culture recreation hall, seminar rooms, and accommodation facilities.
The "Healing Forest" offers a harmonious combination of outdoor programs such as forest bathing and foot baths in cedar and cypress forests, and indoor programs including aromatherapy, meditation yoga, and foot baths, which are flexibly adjusted according to the season and weather.
The Wood Culture Experience Center is popular among family visitors as it is equipped with a woodworking workshop where visitors can create their own works and a wooden imagination playground filled with eco-friendly wooden toys.
Various accommodations such as forest houses, auto camping sites, campgrounds, and cabin houses provide opportunities to gift oneself a special night in the forest.
The 1-night 2-day course, "A Starry Night in Gwangyang," allows travelers to explore Gwangyang’s nature and culture from Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest to Seomjin River Mangdeok Port and enjoy beautiful night views.
