[Concall] Samsung Electro-Mechanics "Q1 MLCC Shipment Increase... Securing Market Share in Automotive ADAS"
On the 26th, Samsung Electro-Mechanics stated in its Q1 earnings conference call that "Q1 shipments of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) increased compared to Q4 last year, and inventory days decreased," adding that "shipments grew mainly in the Chinese market for mobile applications."
They reported a slight decrease in sales. Samsung Electro-Mechanics explained, "The blended average selling price (ASP) slightly declined due to the increase in shipments centered on mobile MLCCs," and "although the KRW-USD exchange rate fell compared to the previous quarter, resulting in higher dollar-based sales, sales in Korean won terms slightly decreased."
They added, "With inventory adjustments in the market having progressed to a certain extent, we expect shipments to increase in Q2 as well, following Q1, driven by new smartphone launches in China and steady demand for automotive MLCCs."
