'AI Experts Meeting' Held in Yeouido on the 26th
Lee Hyung-il, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, emphasized the need to actively nurture AI technology talent and proactively secure core technologies.
On the 26th, Deputy Minister Lee Hyung-il chaired a meeting of AI experts at the KAIST Graduate School of Digital Finance in Yeouido. The meeting has been held since 2019 to facilitate discussions among experts on future issues, and the first forum on this day focused on "The Economic and Social Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Directions for Industrial Innovation."
Deputy Minister Lee stated, "With the rapid acceleration of AI technology development such as ChatGPT, the future national competitiveness will depend on AI technological capabilities and the industrial innovation based on them." He added, "The public and private sectors must work together to educate the general public to utilize the technology and prepare related legal supplements." He further noted, "We will complement and develop government policies such as the recently announced plans to strengthen super-large AI competitiveness and the New Growth 4.0 strategy, presented at the Digital Platform Government Implementation Plan briefing chaired by the President."
