National Pension Service Donates 380 Million Won to Elderly and Single Pension Recipients
The National Pension Service announced on the 26th that it has delivered 380 million KRW in donations from the 'Maeumitneun Social Volunteer Service' to the Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly Living Alone.
'Maeumitneun Social Volunteer Service' is the Service's representative social contribution project that provides daily necessities support, installs residential safety equipment, and offers companionship volunteer activities for elderly and solitary National Pension recipients identified during the Service's eligibility verification process. The Service has supported 45,266 elderly individuals with daily necessities and residential safety equipment worth approximately 3.2 billion KRW since 2012.

This year, about 4,700 pension recipients' homes will be visited by 112 branches nationwide to deliver support items and conduct volunteer activities. Director of Welfare Park Yang-sook stated, "Through the Maeumitneun Social Volunteer Service, we will continuously practice love so that elderly people living alone in hardship do not feel lonely," and added, "We will strive to be an institution that leads welfare efforts for pension recipients and marginalized groups in the future."
