Gwangju Seo-gu Holds Gender Impact Assessment Committee Meeting... 32 Projects Selected

On the 24th, Seo-gu District Office in Gwangju Metropolitan City held a Gender Impact Assessment Committee meeting at the Seo-gu Office Nanum Hall to select the 2023 Gender Impact Assessment projects.

According to Seo-gu on the 26th, the 'Gender Impact Assessment' is a system that systematically evaluates factors such as the characteristics of women and men and socio-economic and physical disparities during the process of establishing and implementing major policies such as laws, plans, and projects, so that policies contribute to the realization of gender equality.

At the meeting, the committee discussed projects submitted by each department according to this year's project selection criteria and selected 32 projects, including pledged projects such as ▲Operation of Small Business Support Center ▲Installation of Pedestrian Lights on Walkable Roads ▲Operation of Visiting Integrated Health Camps.

Seo-gu plans to conduct one-on-one expert consulting next month to enhance the understanding of project managers regarding the Gender Impact Assessment of the selected projects and to strengthen the effectiveness of gender equality policies, deriving improvement plans from a gender perspective and reflecting them in policies.

A Seo-gu official said, “We will strengthen the foundation for promoting the Gender Impact Assessment system, eliminate gender-discriminatory elements in the promotion of policies and projects in the future, and implement policies for a happy Seo-gu for all.”
