Dong-A University Basic Research Lab Wins Excellent Paper Presentation Award at Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles Spring Conference
The Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) at Dong-A University received the Excellent Paper Presentation Award at the Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles.
The research team from Dong-A University's Basic Research Laboratory, "4D Printing Metastructure-Based Soft Actuator for Smart Clothing," includes Professors Lee Sunhee (Department of Fashion Design) and Kim Jongwook (Department of Electronic Engineering), Lecturer Choi Youngrim (Department of Electronic Engineering), and graduate student Park Yeeun (Department of Clothing and Textiles).
They received the Excellent Paper Presentation Award (Oral Session) at the 2023 Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles for their study titled "A Study on the Controller Design of a 3D Printed Robotic Hand Using TPU Material."

View original imageThe paper replaces the conventional metal and plastic materials used for robotic exteriors with TPU material and develops a shape controller for a robotic hand that can move using motors, confirming the control of four fingers excluding the thumb.
Lecturer Choi Youngrim, who presented the paper, said, "There were difficulties and challenges during the research process, but thanks to my advisor and fellow researchers, I was able to complete the paper," adding, "I will devote myself to academic research through more studies and efforts in the future."
