View original imageSince 2018, the city has installed and operated a total of 281 shade shelters annually at major crosswalks and traffic islands. In particular, the smart shade shelters piloted last year received great response, and 13 additional locations will be installed this year.
The smart shade shelters are next-generation shelters that combine Internet of Things (IoT) and solar power technology. They automatically open and close according to climate conditions such as temperature and wind speed, requiring no separate personnel and allowing quick response to sudden weather changes.
