'Disaster Preparedness'... Suwon-si, Dualization of Administrative Communication Network

View original imageThe city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will dualize its administrative communication network providers to ensure uninterrupted administrative communication services even in the event of an information and communication service outage.
On the 25th, Suwon City and SK Broadband signed a "Business Agreement for Dualization of Administrative Communication Network" at Suwon City Hall, the city announced on the 26th.
This is the first time Suwon City has implemented dualization of communication providers for its affiliated institutions.
According to the agreement, SK Broadband will lay dual optical cables for the administrative communication network and install network equipment at 22 locations, including four district offices and major business sites.
In case of a network failure, a non-stop operation system will be established that automatically switches to the dualized line, and regular maintenance and servicing will be conducted during the contract period.
Additionally, two outdated encryption devices between Gyeonggi Province and Suwon City will be supported, and both parties agreed to mutually cooperate for the future development of Suwon City's IT (information and communication) infrastructure.

Lee Jae-jun, Mayor of Suwon, stated, "In recent years, there have been incidents where information and communication services were interrupted due to fires and other causes," adding, "With the dualization of the administrative communication network, we will be able to provide uninterrupted administrative communication services even in the event of a disaster."
