On the 25th, Gyeonggi Province announced that Governor Kim Dong-yeon held a communication meeting at Dodamso (the former Gyeonggi Governor's official residence) with the president of the Gyeonggi Sports Council and the presidents of the sports councils of 31 cities and counties, focusing on expanding opportunities for residents to enjoy sports.
The communication meeting was organized to celebrate the launch of the second term of the elected city and county sports councils and served as an occasion for introductions and a luncheon.
Attendees included Yeom Jong-hyun, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council; Lee Young-bong, Chair of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee; Vice-Chairs Hwang Dae-ho and Lim Kwang-hyun; Lee Won-sung, President of the Gyeonggi Sports Council; and the presidents of the city and county sports councils.
In his greeting, Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, "I have a great interest in sports, providing sports viewing rights to the elderly and people with disabilities, and supporting independent baseball teams, and I have a lot of affection for the Sports Council. Together with the Gyeonggi Sports Council and the city and county sports councils, we will join forces to improve the health of Gyeonggi residents, foster elite sports, and increase participation rates in recreational sports, and we will strive to resolve various longstanding issues."
He added, "I hope we become one team to improve the quality of life for Gyeonggi residents. Let's meet more often in the future."
Lee Won-sung, President of the Gyeonggi Sports Council, responded, "Together with the presidents of the 31 city and county councils, we will join forces with Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Provincial Council to make the Gyeonggi Sports Council an unrivaled sports council."
