Gyeonggi-do Provides Job Training for 'Local Autonomous Disaster Prevention Teams' to Enhance Disaster Response
On the 25th, Gyeonggi Province conducted a training program to cultivate disaster relief specialists for local autonomous disaster prevention teams and related public officials within the province.
This training focused on enhancing the disaster response capabilities of local autonomous disaster prevention teams, who reside in the area and are well-acquainted with regional characteristics, by encouraging proactive relief activities during disaster occurrences.
Participants received lectures on the duties and roles of autonomous disaster prevention teams, disaster relief-related laws and systems, understanding volunteer work, and conflict management skills.
Going forward, they will actively support residents in need of relief, such as disaster victims and temporary evacuees, through public-private joint efforts during disasters.
The local autonomous disaster prevention teams in the province are civilian-based regional disaster prevention organizations, with approximately 9,500 members operating disaster response activities centered in 31 cities and counties.
