Ulsan Office of Education Expands Customized Support for Vulnerable Students
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education is strengthening customized integrated support tailored to the individual circumstances of vulnerable students in cooperation with World Vision.
On the 25th, the Ulsan Office of Education announced that starting this year, it will operate the "What Do You Eat on the Weekend?" project, a love lunchbox program that delivers two meals once a week to the homes of students who are neglected in weekend care.
In this regard, the Office of Education held a handover ceremony in the reception room on the 25th and received support funds for vulnerable students from World Vision. Eight officials, including Superintendent Cheon Chang-su and Jeon Gwang-seok, Head of the Gyeongnam·Ulsan Business Headquarters of World Vision, attended the ceremony.
The total amount delivered this time is 869.43 million KRW, which is the support fund for five projects operated this year. By project, 278.3 million KRW for dream support, 100 million KRW for crisis support, 350 million KRW for incurable disease support, 83.53 million KRW for breakfast support, and 57.6 million KRW for weekend lunchbox support.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education and World Vision signed a business agreement in 2021 to provide human and material support to vulnerable students.
Since the agreement, they have been carrying out the "Dreaming Children" project to encourage students' dreams and help them overcome crises such as incurable diseases.
Last year, 497 students received 704 million KRW through the dream support, crisis support, and incurable disease support projects. Additionally, 83 million KRW was provided to 12 schools through the breakfast support project.
