Joint 'Public Institution Recruitment Fair' Held in Daejeon for Chungcheong Region
A joint ‘Public Institution Recruitment Fair’ for the Chungcheong region will be held in Daejeon.
On the 25th, Daejeon City announced that it will hold the ‘2023 Chungcheong Region Public Institution Local Talent Recruitment Fair’ at Daejeon City Hall on the 2nd and 3rd of next month.
The fair is hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the National Balanced Development Committee, and organized by the four cities and provinces of Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk. It is an event aimed at expanding employment opportunities for local talent in the Chungcheong region and promoting job placement.
In particular, this year is significant as it is the first time since the 2020 regional talent mandatory recruitment regionalization in Chungcheong that the four cities and provinces have jointly prepared and held the event.
The fair will feature 30 public institutions located in the Chungcheong region, including Korea Midland Power Co., Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, Korea Gas Technology Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Korea Railroad Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and Korea National Railway.
By consolidating the fairs that were held separately by each city and province in the Chungcheong region last year into one event, the scale of participation has also increased. Additionally, the city explained that the inconvenience of having to check and visit each regional fair schedule to participate has been resolved through the joint hosting.
The fair will proceed in the following order: ▲Opening Ceremony ▲National Competency Standards (NCS) Star Instructor’s Job Guidance Special Lecture (2nd at 1 PM) ▲Public Institution Recruitment Briefing (2nd at 2 PM) ▲New Employee + HR Manager Talk Concert (2nd at 5 PM).
The National Competency Standards (NCS) Star Instructor’s Job Guidance Special Lecture will be delivered by Kim Sowon, a public institution employment specialist instructor, providing direction to those preparing for employment at public institutions.
The public institution briefing will include five organizations: Korea Water Resources Corporation, Korea Railroad Corporation, Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Institute, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs. They will introduce their institutions, explain this year’s recruitment plans, and hold Q&A sessions.
The New Employee + HR Manager Talk Concert will feature new employees and HR managers from three institutions: Korea Water Resources Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs. They will share their experiences after joining public institutions and address questions from job seekers preparing for public institution employment.
During the fair, on-site recruitment consultation booths will also be operated, providing job seekers with opportunities to receive introductions to this year’s recruitment guidelines directly from recruitment officers of each institution.

Park Yeon-byeong, Director of the Planning and Coordination Office, said, “We hope that local talents aspiring to work at public institutions will be able to secure employment at their desired institutions through this fair,” and added, “The city will strive to create more opportunities for local talents to be hired by linking previous public institutions with local educational institutions.”
