Hanwha Aero Secures Safety by Leading GPS Signal Jamming Countermeasure Technology
Investment in Israeli Startup with Hangjaeming Technology
Hanwha Aerospace is investing in an Israeli startup that possesses 'anti-jamming' technology to counteract interference with satellite navigation devices (GPS).
Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 25th that it participated in the Series A investment of InfiniDOME along with Honeywell Ventures and NextGear Ventures in the United States. The total amount raised by InfiniDOME in this round is $9 million (approximately 12 billion KRW), and the investment method is a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE).
SAFE is a form of investment where funds are prepaid and equity is acquired later at a discounted price, used to quickly secure promising startups with technological capabilities amid fierce early-stage investment competition.
Founded in June 2016, InfiniDOME can produce smaller, better-performing products based on low power consumption at half the price compared to competitors in the anti-jamming solution market.
Hanwha Aerospace proactively secured technology to respond to radio interference (jamming) attacks that disable GPS, which have emerged as new threats not only in the military sector but also in civilian fields such as delivery drones, robots, and autonomous driving.
Hanwha Defense, which merged with Hanwha Aerospace on the 1st, has already developed its own anti-jamming technology and is producing tactical guided weapons and ground vehicle anti-jamming devices. Through this investment, Hanwha Aerospace plans to actively capture the global anti-jamming market, which is expected to grow 13% annually and reach $12.7 billion (approximately 17 trillion KRW) by 2030, by collaborating with InfiniDOME.
