Most of the 157 participants from all over the country showed great enthusiasm.
In particular, participants promoted Shinan-gun’s flounder fishing spots and received specialty products such as sun-dried salt, peanuts, and seaweed sets through event raffles.
Among the participants, Mr. Na from Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, won first place by catching a 40.2 cm flounder.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “Seeing so many anglers gathered from across the country to participate in the competition, I feel we should hold more and bigger fishing competitions in the future. In the second half of the year, we plan to hold a tournament-style championship to properly showcase the taste of sea fishing in Shinan-gun nationwide.”
He added, “I am grateful that we were able to conclude the competition without a single accident.”
