Goheung-gun Takes Proactive Measures to Secure National Funding for Next Year

Gong Yeong-min County Governor Visits Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Ministry of Environment to Explain Project Necessity

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it is conducting all-out efforts targeting central government ministries to achieve the goal of "maximizing national budget acquisition" in the 8th local government administration.

On the 24th, Gong Young-min, Governor of Gohung-gun, visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Environment to explain major projects targeted for national budget acquisition and requested active administrative and financial support.

At the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, they first expressed gratitude for the selection of the 'Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex' candidate site, the first national industrial complex since the opening of Gohung-gun, and requested support at the ministry level to ensure a prompt preliminary feasibility study.

In addition, they proposed regional issues including △Construction of the Gwangju~Gohung (Naro Space Center) highway (project cost undecided) △Improvement of Donggang Hancheon Intersection on National Road No. 15 (12 billion KRW) △New 4-lane National Road No. 15 from Gohung-eup to Bongnae (323.1 billion KRW) △Route change of National Road No. 77 (Doyang~Daeseo) (411.7 billion KRW).

Following the visit to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Governor Gong Young-min visited the Ministry of Environment and explained the necessity and feasibility of three major projects: △Expansion of Gohung sewage treatment area (13.52 billion KRW) △Village sewage system maintenance in Gohung (shellfish production area) (13.48 billion KRW) △Geogeum Jeokdaebong ecological trail (10 billion KRW).

On this day, Governor Gong Young-min said, "Stable acquisition of national funds is most important to secure growth engines that drive Gohung's change and development," and added, "We plan to continue visiting central government ministries frequently to explain the necessity and feasibility of projects."
