Operation of 'Cheonwon's Breakfast' During Exam Period
Dong-Eui University has stepped up to support students exhausted from studying during exam periods by providing a hearty breakfast.
Dong-Eui University is participating in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' '2023 One-Thousand-Won Breakfast' project and will operate the 'One-Thousand-Won Breakfast' program during four exam periods in the 2023 academic year: the first semester midterms and finals, and the second semester midterms and finals.
Dong-Eui University offers breakfast consisting of rice, soup, and three side dishes at a cost of 3,500 won, covered by 1,000 won government support, 1,500 won school contribution, and 1,000 won from students. The breakfast is served without a limit on the number of participants from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Sudeokjeon student cafeteria during the specified periods.
Seungmin Kim, a first-year student in the Department of International Tourism Management, who finished the One-Thousand-Won Breakfast on the 24th, said, "Since it was exam period, I studied all night and came to school, so it was great to be able to enjoy warm food at an affordable price."
The Student Council and President Han Suhwan are providing sandwich and coffee sets to Dong-Eui University students tired from the exam period.
View original imageAdditionally, to encourage students who have been studying diligently at the library early in the morning during the first semester midterms, Dong-Eui University distributed 350 sets of sandwiches and coffee to students at the entrance of the Central Library at 9 a.m. on the 24th.
President Suhwan Han and Student Council President Taewon Park of Dong-Eui University attended the sandwich and coffee distribution event and personally handed out snacks to the students.
Starting from the first semester of the 2023 academic year, Dong-Eui University also established a scholarship system to alleviate meal expenses for some low-income students, providing approximately 1,800 students with 20 meal tickets worth about 100,000 won per person.

The meal tickets, which can be used at on-campus cafeterias, are valid until the end of June before the summer vacation, and the university plans to expand the number of recipients and increase meal ticket distribution in the second semester.
