An active police officer was caught by the police after falling asleep on the road while driving under the influence without a license.
On the 24th, the Gwangju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province is investigating Sergeant A, in his 50s, affiliated with the Songpa Police Station in Seoul, on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
Sergeant A is accused of driving in a heavily intoxicated state at around 7:20 a.m. the previous day at an intersection in Gonjiam-eup, Gwangju City. He fell asleep in the vehicle while waiting at a traffic light and was caught following a citizen's report.
According to the police, A's blood alcohol concentration was reported to be at a level warranting license cancellation.
