The disabled population in the city is 10,084, accounting for 9.5% of Jeongeup citizens.
This figure far exceeds the national average disability population ratio of 5.2%, highlighting the need for expanded projects and enhanced protection of disability rights.
The city conducts this training targeting workers living with severely disabled individuals in residential facilities and plans to hold a second session around June for those who were unable to attend this time.
A city official stated, “Amid ongoing reports related to disability abuse, we hope this training provided a meaningful opportunity to protect the rights of workers and prevent abuse of residents with disabilities in facilities. We will continue to strive to protect disability rights and improve the treatment of workers.”
