Busan Office of Education Enhances Field Support Capabilities of Integrated Education Support Team
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a capacity-building workshop for the Integrated Education Support Group to closely support the integrated education field.
On the 24th, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will hold the "2023 Integrated Education Support Group Capacity Building Workshop" at 3 p.m. on the 25th at Avani Central Busan, targeting 63 members of the Integrated Education Support Group from the city education office and five education support offices.
The "Integrated Education Support Group" is composed of school administrators, special education teachers, general teachers, and behavior intervention specialists. They provide consulting activities on overall integrated education, such as individualized education, disability awareness education, and integrated class operation plans, targeting general and special education teachers in the field.
This workshop is held under the theme "Designing the Next Five Years of Integrated Education" to strengthen the support group's field support capabilities. Additionally, it aims to find ways for special education students placed in general schools to receive education suitable for their individual educational needs alongside their peers.
The workshop will be conducted through keynote lectures, discussions, and meetings by each Integrated Education Support Group. At the workshop, Lee Seon-min, a teacher at Anjin Elementary School, will give a lecture on the topic "Overseas Trends in Integrated Education through Case Studies."
Following this, a representative from the city education office will provide "Integrated Education Policy Guidance and Q&A," and each Integrated Education Support Group from the education (support) offices will hold meetings to select research topics for integrated education support and discuss school support plans.
In the future, the support group plans to conduct regular consulting to enhance teachers' understanding and implementation of integrated education for schools (kindergartens) without special classes where special education students are enrolled.
