Recruiting Startups to Participate in the Martial Arts 'Trade Center Testbed Project'
Purpose of Providing Demonstration Opportunities to Innovative Startups
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 24th that it will recruit startups to participate in the 'Trade Center Testbed Project,' aimed at supporting the scale-up of domestic innovative startups, until the 7th of next month.
Since 2019, KITA has collaborated with the 'COEX MICE Cluster Committee (CMC)' to open the Trade Center, a complex cultural space, providing startups with a platform to verify innovative technologies. CMC is a convergence council of 16 organizations (businesses) operating in culture, tourism, shopping, exhibition conventions, and other sectors within the Trade Center.
This year, KITA is recruiting startups in the fields of energy efficiency improvement technologies (cooling energy-saving technologies, exhibition waste disposal solutions, automatic temperature control systems, etc.) and CMC-customized solutions (idle warehouse utilization solutions, logistics facility automation technologies, foreigner-only waiting systems, casino training simulation games, AI-based marketing solutions, etc.). Startups selected through document review and the first meet-up will be given opportunities to demonstrate their products and services.
Myungja Lee, Director of Digital Innovation at KITA, said, “For most startups with short business histories and insufficient order records, opportunities to demonstrate innovative ideas and technologies are extremely urgent,” adding, “We hope many innovative startups participate in this project to test their success potential by gauging the reactions of numerous domestic and international visitors.”

KITA stated that the Trade Center Testbed Project provides startups with opportunities to accumulate data and offers CMC a chance to apply innovative solutions to existing business areas. It also added that over the three years since the project’s inception, a total of 643 applications, 119 meet-ups, and 42 demonstration cases have been achieved. In the case of the startup 'Roadsystem,' it participated in the project in 2021, gained demonstration experience, and subsequently received approval for a regulatory sandbox demonstration special case project.
