Seeking New Growth Engines... Busan City Holds 'National Balanced Development and Busan Financial Hub Promotion National Assembly Forum'
Busan City will hold the "National Balanced Development and Busan Financial Hub Promotion National Assembly Forum" at 2 p.m. on the 24th in the 2nd Conference Room of the National Assembly Members' Office Building.
This forum is hosted by National Assembly member Kim Hee-gon, organized by Busan City and the Busan International Financial Promotion Agency, and is expected to be attended by about 100 officials from the National Assembly, Busan City, government, academia, and research institutions, including Kim Hee-gon of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee and lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties, as well as Lee Sung-kwon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs.
The experts attending the event will come together to explore a new growth axis for South Korea through a paradigm shift in national balanced development and effective financial hub promotion, and to discuss ways to strengthen the Busan financial hub in preparation for the second phase of public institution relocation.
The forum will proceed in the order of opening remarks, congratulatory speeches, keynote presentations, and policy discussions. In the keynote presentations, ▲ Kim Byung-deok, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Finance, will present on "Achievements and Future Tasks of Busan Financial Hub Policy," and ▲ Bae Geun-ho, Professor at Dong-Eui University, will present on "Promotion Plan for Busan Financial Hub through Concentration of Policy Financial Institutions."
Following this, the policy discussion will be chaired by Do Deok-hee, President of Korea Maritime and Ocean University, with panelists including Jang Won-chang, Professor at Inha University; Kim Yong, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade; Cho Sung-soon, Professor at Korea Maritime and Ocean University; and Son Sung-eun, Financial Startup Policy Officer of Busan City.
