Prosecutors Summon Bithumb Holdings CEO for Investigation Over 'Bribery for Listing'
The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office summoned Lee Sang-jun, CEO of Bithumb Holdings, on the 20th for questioning as a suspect on charges of accepting bribes in exchange for listing coins.
Lee is accused of receiving money from businessman Kang Jong-hyun, who is suspected to be the actual owner of the cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb, in return for listing specific coins on the exchange. Bithumb Holdings is the largest shareholder of Bithumb. Kang is suspected of delivering tens of billions of won in bribes to Lee through Ahn Sung-hyun, the husband of Sung Yu-ri from the girl group Fin.K.L.
